Keep Yourself Safe

Registration now open for the ” Keep Yourself Safe” Webinar for girls aged 12-18.

We are delighted to announce the registration is open for the “Keep yourself safe” webinar for girls aged 12-18 on Sunday 13 March at 7pm.

NSWFA updated the Child Safeguarding policy last year and educating our younger generation is part of our strategy to create a safe environment for all.
The webinar will focus on:

– the sorts of behaviour towards young people that are safe, unsafe or inappropriate
– identifying grooming behaviour
– how to raise a concern or complaint if such behaviour affects you or another young participant
– case study
– Q & A

The webinar will be facilitated by Jing Shang, President and Director of Member Protection and Child Safety of NSWFA, with special guest Jane Thorpe

Jane has over two decades experience in Child Protection from a research role to 18 years working at the NSW Department of Education, serving as Director of Child Protection Investigation Directorate (CPID), and Executive Director Employee Performance and Conduct (EPAC) within the People and Culture Division. Her experience will equip young female fencers with practical tips and advice.

Click here to register. Parents and girl fencers need to register separately.
The webinar lasts about 40-45 minutes and will NOT be recorded. The webinar link will be sent to registered girls one or two days before the webinar.

We’d like to advise parents to refrain from attending the webinar to give girls space to speak up and ask questions. The presentation documents will be shared with parents afterwards.
