Zero tolerance statement
NSW Fencing is committed to providing a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for all participants, especially children and young people. We take child safeguarding seriously and are committed to upholding the highest standards of protection. We maintain zero tolerance for any form of abuse, discrimination, bullying, or harassment, whether verbal, physical, emotional, or online. This includes, and is not limited to, behaviour targeting race, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, disability, religion, or background. We stand firmly in support of our diverse fencers, families, volunteers, and staff, and will not tolerate any actions that undermine their safety or dignity. All concerns and violations by fencers, coaches, officials, staff, volunteers, or spectators will be treated seriously and addressed in line with the National Integrity Framework. We all share the responsibility to foster a culture of inclusion, safety, and respect to ensure fencing is a safe and welcoming sport for all participants. -
Refunds
Fencers who cannot compete in NSW Fencing competitions on medical grounds should email a medical certificate to info@nswfencing.org.au within one week of the final day of the tournament, and a refund will be arranged. Refunds will be provided in full for any withdrawals requested prior to the commencement of the late entry period for a NSW Fencing event, regardless of reason. After the close of the early entry period, refunds for withdrawal will not be available for reasons other than medical grounds, except where there are extreme extenuating circumstances, as determined on formal application to the NSW Fencing Board, who will decide the matter in their absolute discretion. The same situation will apply for applications for medical withdrawals received more than a week following the final day of a tournament. Note that transfers of registration or entry fees from one event to another are not available as an alternative to any permitted refund. Otherwise, other than as required by law, NSW Fencing considers requests for refunds on a case by case basis. -
Diversity and inclusion
NSW Fencing values, and is committed to supporting, equity, diversity and inclusion, and follows the Australian Sports Commission (ASC) guidelines.
