NSW Fencing, authorised by the AFF, is pleased to endorse the 2025 Sydney International Fencing Camp – coach development stream, as the NSW Level 1 coaching course.  This is a high quality event, with a wholistic approach to coaching and to coach development, led by Maestro Enrico Di Ciolo (Italian Olympic Coach) and Maestra Virginia Di Franco. The camp is convened by Bill Ronald OAM, OLY, and hosted by Sydney University Sport. With a wholistic approach to coaching and to coach development, the camp represents an excellent opportunity for coaches, and aspiring coaches, to purse a Level 1 qualification in time to undertake their coaching activities in the new year.  Candidates for the qualification will undertake the coach development stream of the camp, then be assessed for competence at the end of the camp by designated assessors. Successful candidates will be awarded a Level 1 coaching qualification, which is recognised by the AFF.  In order to be eligible to pursue the Level 1 qualification, candidates must register for, and attend, the coach development stream of the camp, and also register with NSW Fencing for assessment. NSW Fencing values the collaboration with SIFC and AFF which has made this opportunity available to support and strengthen coach development in NSW.  –––––– To purse the Level 1 coaching qualification, you will need to: be aged 16 years and over register for the coach development stream of the Sydney International Fencing Camp buy a ticket (below) to be assessed for competence at the end of the camp attend all sessions of the Camp (attendance will be taken) be assessed by designated assessors at the camp If you are assessed as competent at the end of the Camp, you will then need to: undertake Sport Integrity Australia’s, Safeguarding Children and Young People in Sport Induction, online course and, email your badge of completion to secretary@nswfencing.org.au Once you have provided this, you will be issued with your Level 1 coaching qualification.
